In addition the cicada is a symbol of rebirth a tradition adopted from ancient Chinese culture. In Japan this particular annual species, Hyalessa maculaticollis, is called the minminzemi, or minmin ciacada, an onomatope for their min-min-min call. 2023 2½" long
